Selena Gomez’s ‘Hit the Lights’ Remix Video Is An Artsy Party
YouTube
Selena Gomez has unveiled an eye-popping new version of her ‘Hit the Lights’ video to accompany the remix version of the song. The remix is nearly identical to the original recording, except that an extra layer of synths has been added to the poppy beat. Similarly, the new video matches the old one, but the contrast has been cranked up to distort the colors. It looks like something an art student would create, and it’s a really cool visual.
In the video, Selena and her friends forget about all their cares and spontaneously enjoy life. That means dancing through cornfields, playing baseball with pumpkins, chasing each other with flashlights and jumping into piles of balloons.
There’s also a scene that looks like it might be Gomez and boyfriend Justin Bieber engaged in some hardcore lip locking, but a peek at the original video shows that it’s actually another set of young lovebirds who resemble the teen pop power couple.
The original ‘Hit the Lights’ appeared on Selena Gomez and the Scene’s 2011 album ‘When the Sun Goes Down.’

Bobby Brown Performs With New Edition After Whitney Houston’s Funeral
YouTube
Merely hours after leaving the funeral of ex wife Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown took to the stage in Connecticut for a concert with New Edition.“This is part of the cap off of what’s to come in my life,” Brown said as he walked onstage. “I want to give blessings to my ex wife,” he said, pointing at the sky. “Whitney Houston. I love you. I want to give blessings to my kids, my fiancee, my brothers.” Brown then introduced himself as “bada– Bobby Brown.”
While Brown has come under flak for his continuing to perform so soon after Houston’s passing (he also performed the night of her death, merely hours after finding out), a friend previously explained that performing is therapeutic for the ‘My Prerogative’ singer. He previously has paid tribute to Houston onstage since her death on Feb. 11.
What may rub some the wrong way about Brown’s performance is that he left Houston’s funeral early and abruptly before his Connecticut show. While initial reports suggested Brown was upset that he couldn’t invite his “entourage” to sit with him, Brown later released a statement explaining that he was neither allowed to sit with his family nor to see his daughter with Houston, Bobbi Kristina.
While we can understand the frustration at Brown’s behavior, we can also understand Brown’s under frustration. Everyone grieves and mourns differently, and no one should judge how another reacts to such a sudden, tragic event. Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved Houston. May she rest in — and may her family find — peace.

Carly Rae Jepsen ‘Call Me Maybe’ Video Features Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez + More
YouTube
Carly Rae Jepsen has friends in high places. The singer signed to Justin Bieber‘s label and that’s more than enough reason for the Biebs and his A-list pals to lend her a hand (and their arms and legs) by appearing in this super fun video for ‘Call Me Maybe.’ That’s called promoting an artist. It’s a teenage dream if there ever was one, with Bieber’s lady love Selena Gomez and Disney star Ashley Tisdale dancing their patoots of in this casual, chill clip.
The trio of The Biebs, Sel and Ash are joined by a few other dancers. And boy, do they dance –- a lot. They also play pool and have a fun, G-rated party. The parents of most Beliebers wouldn’t take issue with this kinda party.
You know that saying about dancing like no one is watching? Well, that’s exactly what happens in this video. They’re all acting like goofballs, dancing without a care in the world or about how silly they might look.
With the Biebs in her corner and assists from his famous friends, Carly Rae Jepsen is on the rise.

Skrillex Gets Electric in ‘Bangarang’ Video
YouTube
Grammy winning dubstep DJ Skrillex released a video for ‘Bangarang,’ and it’s pretty trippy. Featuring a caricature of an overweight man with a mustache and kids attached to wires, it’s as fun to watch as the song is to listen to.The clip opens with dogs barking at the fat, cartoonish man, who’s driving an ice cream truck and eating the cones as he maneuvers about town. A boy who owns the dogs seems to be fleeing from him, while another in a purple hoodie is hooked up to electric wires. When he puts his hand to other wiring on a building, sparks literally fly. Soon, another young chap is seen playing with dynamite.
All three boys are wearing bandannas, that they later use to obscure their faces. They launch a pincer attack on the ice cream truck operator: the kid with the explosives fires a small bomb, conveniently labeled “BANG,” at the truck with his slingshot. The electrically charged child in purple rests his own wired hand against mechanical wiring in the truck, giving a shocking jolt to the driver. The boy with all the dogs throws marbles on the ground outside the truck’s door, causing the driver to fall down immediately when he tries to exit the vehicle.
The boys have teamed up to rob the truck of all its precious cargo: ice cream cones. They stuff them into their backpacks, fighting back at the driver when he tries to detain them. Later, they sit together and indulge in their treats — which are an interesting color and taste. (You’ll have to watch to find out what we mean.)
Soon, we see the gentlemen in the future. We won’t give it away, but we’ll tell you this: their sweet operation is only the tip of the iceberg.

R. Kelly Fights Back Tears During Whitney Houston Funeral Performance
YouTube
When R. Kelly wrote ‘I Look to You’ for Whitney Houston 10 years ago, he never thought that he’d be singing it at the legend’s funeral. Kelly choked back tears during his rousing performance of the song at Houston’s memorial yesterday (Feb. 18), giving a new meaning to the track he penned.Kelly pauses briefly to collect himself at several points throughout his performance, his longest break about midway through. His lips quiver, and he clutches tissues in his free hand.
However, he regains his vocal power shortly after, almost seeming to garner it from the spirit and memory of Houston herself. “When all the melodies are gone,” Kelly sings, “In you I can be strong.“ At times, Kelly sings to the sky, pointing up towards the heavens where he’s confident Houston now resides.
Despite his visible sorrow and grief, R. Kelly delivers a powerful performance, evoking tears in everyone onscreen. He rouses the crowd out of their seats before closing with the simplest of sentiments: “Goodbye, Whitney. We love you.”

Kevin Costner Pays Touching Tribute to Whitney Houston at Funeral
YouTube
“The song ‘I Will Always Love You’ wasn’t supposed to be in the movie,” Kevin Costner revealed in a moving speech for his costar in ‘The Bodyguard,’ Whitney Houston at her funeral. “The first choice was going to be ‘What Becomes of a Broken Heart?’” he said. “So what becomes of our broken hearts?”Thus Costner led a nearly 15-minute ode to Houston, arguably the most entertaining and heartwarming of her memorial service. Costner shared anecdotes of his and Houston’s memories of growing up in the Baptist church, their childhood mischief and their time together on set.
Costner dished on Houston’s audition for ‘The Bodyguard,’ a role that he fought for tooth and nail for her to win — including a funny story about running makeup.
“The Whitney I knew,” Costner said, “despite her success and worldwide fame, still wondered: Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me? It was the burden that made her great and the part that cause her to stumble in the end.”
Costner’s voice began to break as he concluded his love letter to the late legend, drawing attention to the parallels between her role in ‘The Bodyguard’ and the rest of her life. “Whitney, if you could hear me now, I would tell you: You weren’t just good enough. You were great,” he said. “You sang the whole damn song without a band. You made the picture what it was. A lot of leading men could have played my part … But you, Whitney, I truly believe were the only one who could have played Rachel Maron at that time,” Costner sighed.
“People didn’t just like you, Whitney. They loved you.”
